Chris Adams was born on February 11th, 1958 to parents Charlotte (Francis) Adams and Christopher Adams in Brooklyn, New York. He spent his late childhood and adolescence in Hempstead, New York, where he went to Hempstead High School and graduated in 1976,

leaving a legendary mark on his peers.

After high school, Chris attended college at California State University, where he received a plethora of basketball scholarships and awards.

Throughout his life, Chris worked as a traveling journalist, as well as for companies such as FedEx and Time Warner. After decades of hard work, he retired from his last job at CardWorks.

An avid music lover, Chris DJ'd, played jazz piano, and was always listening to music . He was an outstanding basketball player, being remembered by Hempstead locals as a legend. He also loved to travel, go out and dance, and spend quality time with his family.

Chris will be remembered as a courteous, knowledgeable man who cared deeply for those he loved. His unmistakable smile shone brightly. He was a comitted father, husband, and friend known to be dependable, kind, and at times, absolutely hilarious.

Chris passed away in his residence on April 8th, 2026. We pray his transition was a peaceful one.

He was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Adams and mother, Charlotte (Francis) Adams.

He leaves behind his daughter, Taylor Sharpe-Adams, his wife, Valerie Spence-Adams, his brother, Steven Adams, 3 stepchildren, a nephew, a step-grandchild, and a host of cousins, community members, and friends.
