In Loving Memory of Florence Albertha Williams

Florence Alberta Williams, affectionately known as Mama, was born on June 23, 1928, in May Pen (Sevens Road), Clarendon, Jamaica. She went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2026, surrounded by a lifetime of prayers she had sown into others.

Mama was the heart of her family. She was the proud mother of nine children: Texus, Sadie, Palma, Jennifer, Mayon, Joan, Mayon, Orville, Devon, and her beloved son Owen, who preceded her in death. Her love extended across generations, blessing 21 grandchildren (one deceased) and 24 great-grandchildren. Every one of them knew they were covered—because Mama prayed.

She was a woman of deep, unwavering faith. Baptized on February 24, 1974, at May Pen Open Bible Church, Mama walked closely with God for the rest of her life. Prayer was not something she did, it was who she was. Her Bible was rarely far from her reach, its pages worn from daily reading, study, and devotion. When others worried, Mama prayed. When others were weak, Mama prayed. When others needed comfort, Mama prayed.

In Jamaica, she faithfully led and joined prayer groups, lifting up the sick, the shut-in, and anyone in need of God's touch. Many found peace, strength, and hope through her prayers. Her favorite scripture, Psalm 91, was a reflection of how she lived—trusting fully in God's protection and resting confidently in His promises.

Mama's faith remained strong and her prayers never ceased. Distance never limited her love; her prayers reached far and wide, especially for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her life was a sermon—quiet yet powerful. She taught faith by example, love by action, and strength through prayer. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the prayers she prayed, and the faith she passed down.

She was deeply loved, will be greatly missed, and will forever remain in our hearts.
