Pierre D. Cobb

President

Pierre Cobb brings a wealth of global experience and a deep commitment to service. From an early age, Pierre knew he wanted to give back to the community that had given so much to him. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he is a proud member of the United States Army Reserve, where he has honorably served for over 25 years. Throughout his military career, he has been mobilized and deployed to several regions, including Iraq and Afghanistan.

Pierre is a graduate of the American McAllister Institute of Funeral Services in New York, NY. He began his mortuary career at the renowned Frank R. Bell Funeral Home in Brooklyn, where he quickly mastered the profession and rose to the position of Funeral Director. His career later took him to Texas, where he served as a Licensed Funeral Director and dedicated countless volunteer hours to supporting families and communities.

During this time, Pierre was selected to serve as the Mortuary Affairs Coordinator at Fort Knox, Kentucky. In this role, he was entrusted with processing the remains of Active Duty Soldiers, Veterans, Dependents, Department of the Army Civilians (DACs), National Guard members, and Army Reservists—an assignment reflecting both his professionalism and compassion.

Pierre later relocated to Louisiana, where he became General Manager of Winnfield Funeral Home and Winnfield Memorial Park of Baton Rouge, providing premier service to families and the surrounding community. In recognition of his leadership and impact, he was asked to accept the role of General Manager at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park in San Antonio, Texas. There, he focused on honoring diversity and all faiths and cultures through exemplary, inclusive service.

Pierre has since returned to New York to accept the position of President of Cory J. Vaughn-Daniels Funeral Services, where he is dedicated to serving families, strengthening community ties, and building a lasting legacy alongside Mr. Vaughn.

Academically, Pierre holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare Administration and is a distinguished graduate of Webster University, where he earned a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management. He also earned a certificate from Johns Hopkins University through the COVID-19 Contact Tracing Program.

His military awards and recognitions include the Army Service Ribbon; two National Defense Service Medals; two Army Achievement Medals; the Armed Forces Reserve Medal; two Armed Forces Reserve Medals with “M” Device; the Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with “3” Device; the Army Commendation Medal; the Army Good Conduct Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; and six Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals.

Pierre is an active member of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), Louisiana Funeral Directors Association (LFDA), Louisiana Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, and Houston Funeral Directors and Morticians Associations.

A servant leader, innovator, and skilled businessman, Mr. Cobb remains committed to honorable service, community outreach, and holistic awareness. His guiding motto is:
“Always rise to the top, because the bottom is just too crowded.”
